Clinical Application & Usage
During an extraction procedure, this instrument relies on mechanical leverage to luxate and lift the tooth:
Apical Progression: The sharp, narrow tips are driven deep into the periodontal ligament space, parallel to the long axis of the root.
Expansion of the Alveolus: Rotational and slight rocking forces are applied via the contoured handles to expand the surrounding bony socket.
Traction: Once the tooth is sufficiently loosened from the ligament, the forceps deliver the final lifting force to cleanly remove the root.
